Description One of the main objectives of the Energy Center LAB initiative consists on designing a Multi-Energy-System (MES) Co-Simulation platform able to qualitatively and quantitatively solve energetic transition scenarios [1]. In particular the focus is related to urban environments and their energy systems. District Heating (DH) is a key infrastructure in an Urban environment and its representation and modelling plays a key role in our platform. Thus the main objective of this Thesis will be the creation of a Multi Agent Co-simulation system to simulate real DH networks as well as virtual ones. After a deep research on the state of the art in the DH modelling and MES co-simulation fields the student will have to implement the agent infrastructure. This will encapsulate physical models (for the grid and buildings), data management structures and an interface for the framework itself. Besides the practical implementation of the framework a study on the possible Demand Side Management (DSM) strategies to be applied to the DH network will be performed exploiting the platform itself. The implementation will be performed in Python.
