Description This thesis focuses on the seismic protection of museum heritage using a 3D isolation system. Starting from CAD modelling, the work will be developed in two main directions: the detailed finite element analysis of the isolation device with negative stiffness and the prototyping with 3D printing. Indeed, the chosen CAD system (SW) lends itself to the numerical (FEM) - experimental (PRINT3D) parallel development starting from the same CAD prototype. The thesis will also address the problem of defining design criteria for the 3D isolation system. Finally, it will be possible to conduct tests to complete the work through the shaking table available inside the laboratory. This proposal expresses several innovative aspects and also challenging in complexity, and therefore would also lend itself to collaborative development in tandem between two students, for example.
