Description The aim of the activity, to be carried out on a company, with possibility of internship, concerns the definition of a methodology based on wearable sensors for the kinematic analysis of the human body, in particular of the trunk and limbs, to be used in a study on balance control in healthy subjects.
The company, brain Technologies srl (https://www.brain-tech.it/), is an engineering company founded in 2008 based in Turin and engaged in the development of solutions and technologies in various fields, including mechatronics, embedded systems, control systems and sensor fusion.
The activity may include:
1) Development of a method to estimate the position and orientation of human limbs;
2) Accurate tracking of human body movements;
3) Use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) for sensor fusion;
4) Definition of an algorithm for measuring and tracking movements;
5) Generation of firmware code for dedicated hardware testing;
6) Debugging of the hardware and software system;
7) Implementation of sensor fusion algorithms.

Required skills Basic knowledge of programming, sensors, elements of robotics (rotation matrices, rigid transformations). Knowledge of biomechanics of human movement is welcome.
