Description The canditate will perform an depth analysis of the hydrodynamics of a Wave Energy Converter. The device belongs to the Point Absorber category and is constituted by a submerged or semi-submerged cylinder coupled to a linear actuator that extracts power from its motion. The work will focus on the influence of the installation depth of the device and the size of the floater. Numerical tools: ANSYS AQWA (hydrodynamic analysis); Matlab Simulink (power extraction evaluation). The main goal will be to identify a relation between the power performances of the device and its hydrodynamic properties.
