Description Nanostructured materials can play an important role in the release of active principle ingredients (API) in the pharmaceutical field. These systems offer several advantages, such as, for example, increasing the solubility of poorly water-soluble API and increasing their bioavailability at the site of action.
In this context, the thesis consists of the following activities: i) synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials based on zinc oxide and silica; ii) loading of amino acids on the carriers through traditional techniques (adsorption and impregnation from solution) and more innovative approach (supercritical CO2 process); iii) in vitro study of release in physiological simulating conditions.
