Guarantee Committee
The Guarantee Committee /Comitato Unico di Garanzia of Politecnico di Torino (CUG) offers its services to the whole Politecnico population: professors, technical and administrative staff, research fellows and students. It encourages equal opportunities for everyone in study and work careers, through actions intended to prevent and oppose every form of discrimination based on sex and sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, religion, personal and political beliefs, disability and age. Moreover it exercise proposing, consulting and verification tasks.
The Commission has instituted a set of Operation Rules starting from 7th May 2015 (www.swas.polito.it/_library/downloadfile.asp?id=115481).
The Guarantee Committee has a mandate of 6 years and it is composed by a president (pointed by the Board of Governors under the Rector’s proposal, Ms. Cristina Coscia), a number of delegates pointed by the BoG, few delegates from each of the most representative unions of the University and a student chosen from the delegation in BoG or Senate. Therefore the Guarantee Committee is composed by 11 actual members, 10 substitutes and one student.
Politecnico Guarantee Committee has joined the CUG national network and it is part of the international network CESAER as far as gender and gender planning issues are concerned.
The Guarantee Committee interacts with the Confidential Counsellor (Atty. Emanuela Marti, http://www.mappaservizi.polito.it/servizi/getservizi/html/(W)/S/(S)/713), a figure introduced by the Statute of Politecnico who who offers assistance and consultancy to the staff and students in case of moral and sexual harassment or discriminatory behaviours. Periodically, the Confidential Counsellor reports on his/her activity with the Guarantee Committee.
The Guarantee Committee (CUG) has substituted and integrated the Equal Opportunities Committee (CPO, Comitato Pari Opportunità) and it is at the service of the whole Politecnico.
