Determining the final grade
The final grade is assigned by the Graduation  Examining Committee who evaluates the overall average grade of all the exams on a scale of 110. Given this average grade, the Graduation Examining Committee might normally add up to a maximum of 8 points, taking into consideration:
  • the evaluation of the work carried out for your thesis (dedication, autonomy, methodological rigour, relevance of results, etc.);
  • your thesis oral defence (clarity in presentation, etc.);
  • any outstanding results achieved during the course of your studies (for instance, the number of exams passed with honors, any experience at foreign universities or research centers, extracurricular activities, participation in student team activities, etc.)

If you reach the score of 112,51 the Graduation Examining Committee may decide to award you the degree with final honors - cum laude (see the Regulations of each degree programme).
If your thesis has the necessary features, the Graduation  Examining Committee may recommend it for publication (dignità di stampa). This is possible only by unanimous decision of the Committee and provided that your final grade is 110 with honors.
