You can request the recognition of the credits you earned during previous academic studies if:
- you have withdrawn from Politecnico di Torino or from another university;
- if you have been declared forfeited by another university
To apply for credit recognition you need to meet the deadlines and requirements for admissions to Politecnico and you must:
- enter the information related to your previous academic studies on the Apply platform (only if you studied at another university);
- upload the course syllabus of each exam that you successfully passed (only if the exam was not taken at Politecnico);
- submit your Credit Recognition Application Form to the Office of the University Registrar on the day of the appointment for the verification of your admission documents and in any case within the deadline for the second phase of enrolment;
- pay 150 € if you studied at another university (NOT at Politecnico). This fee will not be deducted from your tuition fees.
You will be contacted by the Office of Student Services and you will be able to check the result of the evaluation of your previous academic records. You can accept or reject your credit recognition resolution.
In some cases you may be required to sit a supplementary exam. The contents of this exam are illustrated in your evaluation form. You must take this exam during the standard examination session. If you pass this supplementary exam, it will be recorded in your transcripts with the date of the original exam and the grade obtained at your university of origin. This grade cannot be changed under any circumstances. When you accept the result of the evaluation of your previous academic records, you must pay 16 € for each credit that has been recognized. You have 30 working days to pay this fee. After you pay, Politecnico will update your records and no further changes will be possible after that moment. Please note that if you are admitted to Politecnico after having withdrawn from another university, you are required to earn:
- at least 60 credits (including the Final Project credits) at Politecnico in order to get your Bachelor’s degree
- at least 50 credits (excluding the Thesis credits) at Politecnico in order to get your Master’s degree
