Location: Torino

Transfer to Politecnico di Torino from another University
If you are enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme at another Italian University and you want to continue your studies at Politecnico di Torino, you must sit and pass an admission test (even if you are enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree programme of the same class).
Deadlines, requirements and practical information on the admission test are available at: http://orienta.polito.it/it/iscrizione
Before you start the transfer procedure at your current University, you should consider that this option is useful if you have already passed some exams for which you intend to request the credit recognition from Politecnico di Torino.
If you have not taken any exam yet, we suggest you withdraw from your current university and start a new educational path at Politecnico di Torino.
We remind you that:
  • the legislation on university studies prohibits the possibility to be simultaneously enrolled at more than one Italian or foreign university;
  • if you transfer from another university you must earn a minimum of 60 credits including the Final Project at Politecnico di Torino in order to get your Bachelor’s degree;
  • transfers are possible between Italian universities only. If you are a student who comes from a foreign university, please contact the Incoming Mobility Office.
How to apply for a transfer
  1. log into the Apply@polito platform and register for the admission test;
  2. upload a scanned copy of your English language certificate (your certificate will be checked when you enrol online);
  3. enter the information on your Bachelor's studies (enter every single exam, number of credits and scientific disciplinary field) and upload the syllabus of every course;
  4. select 5 different Bachelor’s degree programmes and rank them in order of preference.  This order can be changed in accordance with the provisions of art. 3 of the Call for admissions to the Bachelor’s degree programmes for a.y. 2018/19;
  5. confirm your data and send your application. Take the admission test and wait for the results;

  7. start the transfer out procedure at your current university. You can enrol at Politecnico only after our Office of Student Services receives your transfer form from your current university; for this reason it is important that you start the transfer procedure at your university as soon as you receive our offer of admission;
  8. upon confirmation of your transfer, your previous academic records are sent to a specific Committee and to the Academic Advisor who decide if Politecnico can recognize your previous credits . An informal evaluation of your previous academic records is not possible;
  9. our Office of Student Services needs to check the data contained in your transfer form; after this, you can accept or reject the evaluation of your previous academic records through the online guided procedure. You can accept or reject your evaluation until the day you enrol. You will no longer be able to modify your choice after you enrol. In some cases you may be required to sit a supplementary exam. The contents of this exam are illustrated in your evaluation form. You must take this exam during the standard examination session. If you pass this supplementary exam, it will be recorded in your transcripts with the  date of the original exam and the grade obtained at your university of origin. This grade cannot be changed under any circumstances. This supplementary exam must be included in your Annual Personal Study Plan before any other course and it is worth half of its standard credits (i.e.: when a 8-credit course is validated as a supplementary exam, it is worth 4 credits in your APSP);
  1. enrol online using the link on your Apply personal page, under the Valutazioni/Evaluationssection;
  2. At the end of this procedure you will automatically get your student number (matricola) and an appointment with the Office of Student Services (the date can be modified) for the verification of your admission documents and the collection of your Smart Card.
