Course allocation policy
After the deadline for course selection, Politecnico counts how many students have chosen each generic code. This number is equally distributed so that places in each course of the same kind are offered to students on the basis of their preferences and position on the ranking list.
If too many students have chosen the same course and they have the same position on the raking list, places in the course will be offered taking into account the number of exams passed with honors by each student, and (subsequently) by random computerized drawing.
For allocations of first-semester courses merit is calculated taking into account the exams taken within the July 2019 examination session.
For allocations of second- semester courses merit is calculated taking into account the exams taken within the September 2019 examination session.
Outgoing students must not express any preference for courses that are offered during the semester they will be away for.
Incoming students (double degree / Erasmus + / bilateral agreement) must not express any course preference at all. They will choose their Ateliers and Workshops with their Academic Advisor during a meeting which will take place at the beginning of the semester before classes start. The Incoming Mobility Office is in charge of course allocations for incoming students. Decisions are made in accordance with the Academic Advisors on the basis of residual places.
