If you do not meet the language requirement for admission to a Master’s degree programme (English language certificate – B2 level) by the closing date for enrolment in first semester, you can enrol in single courses. In this case you can enrol in the courses offered in the first semester of the first year of the Master’s degree programme for which you have been denied admission.
How to enrol in single courses If you need to enrol in single courses because you do not meet the language requirement, you do not have to select any SINGLE COURSES from your Apply@polito personal page.
First of all, you need to submit your application for admission to the Master’s degree programme you have chosen. Then, you must wait for the outcome of your application on your Apply@polito personal page – Evaluations section. If your application is “rejected” because you do not meet the language requirement, you can enrol in single courses. Follow these steps:
- go to your Apply@polito personal page;
- click on Procedi con l'iscrizione a singoli insegnamenti /Enrol in single courses;
- click on Riepilogo e Conferma/ Summary and Confirm to confirm your single course enrolment (you can enrol in the courses which are offered in the first semester of the first year of your chosen Master’s degree programme – they will be available by default);
- complete the enrolment process by 8th November 2019
As soon as you get your English language certificate you will be able to enrol in your Master’s degree programme for a.y. 2019/20. Politecnico will automatically validate the courses you attended and recognize the credits of the exams you passed.
The enrolment deadline is 31st March 2020. Log in to your personal page of the Teaching Portal (use the access credentials you received when you enrolled in single courses) – Online Service stab – Apply@polito portlet – click on Enrol in this programme.
Your English language certificate needs to be recorded in your personal page before you can proceed with your enrolment. You have the following options:
- if you get your IELTS certificate through the Language Centre of Politecnico (CLA), your certificate will be automatically recorded a few days after the publication of the IELTS results;
- if you get your IELTS certificate outside Politecnico, enter your TRF Number, available on your certificate or in the e-mail with your test results;
- if you get a Cambridge certificate, enter your CANDIDATE'S ID NUMBER and CANDIDATE'S SECRET NUMBER, available on your exam registration confirmation e-mail;
- if you get a certificate accepted in substitution for IELTS you must present your original certificate to the Office of Student services.
You must complete your Personal Study Plan/Annual Personal Study Plan within 10 days of the date of enrolment. Please note that you will not be able to change your PSP/APSP after this date.
The fixed fee you paid for single course enrolment will be deducted from your Master’s tuition fees up to a maximum of € 334.11 (the € 16.00 revenue stamp cannot be deducted), regardless of your enrolment workload:
- full-time enrolment: we suggest you read the Tuition Fee Guide 2019/20 for information about tuition fee reduction;
- part-time enrolment: we suggest you wait until all the exams you passed during the Winter examination session are recorded in your transcript in order to exploit the yearly limit of 40 credits. Unpassed first-semester exams count towards the 40-credit limit.
If you do not manage to get your English language certificate by 31st March 2020, you will not be allowed to enrol in a Master’s degree programme for a.y. 2019/20.
Your single course enrolment (only first-semester courses which were already included in your APSP) will be valid for the whole 2019/20 academic year until the end of the Fall examination session.
IMPORTANTE NOTICE for students who do not obtain the English certificate by 31st March 2020
If you were denied admission to a Master’s degree programme due to your unfulfilled language requirement but you failed to enrol in single courses, you are not allowed to enrol in single courses “for open competitive exams, professional updating and requalification” and select the courses of the Master’s degree programme you applied for.
