Prospective students applying for a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino must have an English language certificate (CEFR – B2 level). This is an admission requirement. If you do not meet this admission requirement, you will not be able to enrol at Politecnico.

RECOGNITION OF THE ENGLISH CERTIFICATE 
You must send a ticket to your Office of Student Services with the information about your certificate.  
You do NOT need to send a scan copy of your certificate in the following cases
 
  • IELTS certificate: you must send a ticket with the TRF Number of your certificate (you can find this number on your certificate or in the message you received by e-mail when the results were published);
  • CAMBRIDGE certificate: in your personal page of the Cambridge website you must choose to share your results with Politecnico di Torino - see instructions at:
  • https://support.cambridgeenglish.org/hc/en-gb/articles/360021664771-Sending-your-results-to-a-recognising-organisation-Then, you must send a ticket with your Candidate’s ID Number;  
  • TOEFL certificate: you must specify the code of Politecnico di Torino (unicode C285) when you register for the TOEFL exam;
  • If you are unable to provide the above-mentioned information, you must send a ticket to your Office of Student Services attaching your CAMBRIDGE certificate or its statement of results, or the scan copy of your TOEFL certificate (if you had not indicated the unicode before).
For all other English certificates, you must show your original certificate to the Office of Student Services. Your English language exam will be recorded in your transcript. The Office of Student Services will make a copy of your certificate and return the original back to you.  
Considering that it takes a long time to receive the original certificate from the examination board, we recommend you get your certificate well in advance of the deadlines.  
We remind you that English Language exams (graded or ungraded) taken at other universities are not accepted in substitution for the required English language certificate.  
Please note that due to the COVID-19 emergency Politecnico di Torino offers the opportunity to take a university English language exam (instead of presenting an international certificate) exclusively to the students who are going to graduate in the July and September graduation periods (and in the October graduation period for students of Engineering programmes only).
IMPORTANT
As a consequence of the Covid-19 health emergency, some examination board have suspended their language exams for international certificates. If you have been unable to get your English language certificate for this reason, please:
  • log in to the Apply@polito plaform
  • select the “Language skills” section and choose the option "language declaration for covid-19".
  • go to the “Attachment” section and upload this DECLARATION before the enrolment deadline
In this case, you are enrolled at Politecnico “WITH CONDITION” (conditional enrolment).You need to drop this provisional condition before 30th June 2021 within 31st December 2021 by presenting your English language certificate. (update of 24th March 2021)*
*On 23/03/2021 The Academic Senate has approved the extension of the deadline to submit the English language certificate for students enrolled in a.y 2020/21 who submitted the Language declaration for covid-19 to 31st December 2021If the graduation takes place before the 31st December, the deadline to submit the certificate would be the one for the registration for the final examination. 
CERTIFICATE REGISTRATION
Students in possession of a level B2 or higher certification among those provided must send a ticket to the Architecture Area Secretary providing the specified information relating to the certificate obtained. It will not be necessary to attach the certification scan to the ticket if you got:
  • IELTS certificate: you must send a ticket with your TRF Number (you can find this number on your certificate or in the message you received by e-mail when the results were published)
  • CAMBRIDGE certifications: candidates must select on the Cambridge personal page the option to share the test result with the Politecnico di Torino (instructions at the following link:
https://support.cambridgeenglish.org/hc/en-gb/articles/360021664771-Sending-your-results-to-a-recognising-organisation- and write your Candidate's ID number;  
  • TOEFL certification: candidates must indicate the Politecnico di Torino using the unique code (C285) during the exam registration step.
  • If it is not possible to indicate the requested data, it is necessary to send the certification or the Statement of Results of the CAMBRIDGE certificate, or a scan of the TOEFL certificate if the unique code has not been indicated, by ticketing to the reference Secretary Office.
  • For all other certifications provided, it is mandatory to show the original at your Secretary Office. A copy of the certification will be produced, returning the original. The Secretary will record the certificate in your career and you will be awarded the corresponding credits.
Given the long waiting times for receiving the original certification, it is advisable to achieve the certification in time to meet the deadlines.

Eligibility and English language exams passed at other universities are NOT considered substitutes for the required language certification.

It is specified that the possibility of taking the internal English language test, activated due to the COVID-19 emergency in order to graduate, is valid only for graduates of the July, September and possibly October sessions (the latter only for undergraduates of the Engineering Area).

PLEASE NOTE: due to the Covid-19 emergency, some entities have suspended their activities and language exams have been temporarily suspended.Candidates who have not been able to sit the English language exam must, within the deadline for enrollment in a Bachelor's degree programme taught in English, attach this DECLARATION in the "Attachments" section of the Apply procedure after selecting in the section "Language knowledge" the "language declaration for covid-19" option. In this case the enrollment will be a CONDITIONAL enrollment. You will have to obtain the language certificate within 30th of June 2021.
