ITALIAN-TAUGHT MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES

If you apply for admission to an Italian-taught Master’s degree programme and you have a non-Italian high school diploma, you must prove your knowledge of the Italian language: this is a graduation requirement: you will need to pass an Italian language exam of a minimum level A2 in order to graduate.
The course of the Italian language (Lingua italiana II livello) will automatically be included in the curriculum, in addition to the 120 credits required to obtain the degree, but will not be counted in any additional 12 credits.
It will be possible to earn these credits with:
  • passing the internal Italian language exam following the compulsory course
  • the achievement of an adequate level of one of the certifications of knowledge of the Italian language indicated on the Teaching & Learning Center ( CLA) certifications page at Politecnico di Torino or externally to Politecnico di Torino. In both cases you can request the recognition of the exam. If the certification is obtained from an institution external to the Politecnico, it will be necessary to upload the scan of the certificate obtained in the portlet "Loading Language Certifications"  of the TAB "On line Services".

ENGLISH-TAUGHT MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES

If you have a non- Italian educational qualification and you have enrolled in an English-taught Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino, your knowledge of Italian is a pre-requisite for graduation: you will have to pass an Italian language exam at (minimum A2 level - CEFR) in order to graduate.

The Italian language course "01OXGLZ Lingua Italiana II livello (Italian language II level)" will therefore be included in the APSP of  your first year, beyond the the 120-credit threshold required for graduation, without being counted among the possible 12 additional credits.
You can earn these credits if:
  • you pass the university exam after attending the mandatory Italian language course
  • you obtain an Italian language certificate (included in the list of accepted certificates available on the CLA website - Certificates) at Politecnico or outside Politecnico. In both cases, you can request the registration of the Italian language exam included in your APSP. If you get your certificate outside Politecnico, you need to uplaod it to your PoliTo personal page. The University reserves itself the right to carry out a sample check on at least 5% of students, requesting the submission of the original documentation and verifying its truthfulness with the examination boards.
