Thesis conclusion confirmation and thesis deposit
Before registering for the Final Examination, your Supervisor must confirm that you have completed your thesis (thesis conclusion confirmation). You must request the thesis conclusion confirmation following the guided procedure available on your personal page of the Teaching Portal - Next steps for graduation TAB before the deadline illustrated in the thematic calendar.
Please note that the deadline refers to the closing date for sending your thesis conclusion confirmation request to your Supervisor. Your Supervisor may approve your request after this date as long as this happens in good time to allow you to register for the Final Examination by the deadline for Final Examination registration.
You need to complete the following online steps:
- enter the title of your thesis and provide its English translation (if your thesis is written in English you do not need to translate the title to Italian). Please note that you will not be able to modify your thesis title after sumbitting your request and after receiving the approval of your Supervisor;
- enter the names of your Co-supervisors (from Polito or other institutions) who had not been included in your thesis application;
- upload the final version of your thesis abstract, a short but detailed description of your thesis. The abstract will be later available on Webthesis - Biblioteche d'ateneo. The submission of the thesis abstract both in Italian and English is mandatory (if the thesis is written in English, the translation of the abstract into Italian will not be necessary);
- select the options for authorization/non-authorization on public access to your thesis (info on thesis embargo). Please note that your Supervisor needs to approve your embargo request;
- authorize Politecnico di Torino to check your thesis for plagiarism detection;
- deposit your thesis in PDF/A format + annexes. You can modify your thesis file up to 7 days before the beginning of Thesis oral defences, when you must deposit the final version of your thesis.
After submitting your thesis conclusion confirmation, your Supervisor may:
- confirm that you are eligible for graduation. You can now register for the Final Examination. From this moment on, you will no longer be able to modify any data;
- reject your request. You will receive an e-mail with the motivations. In some cases, you will be able to work on the revisions suggested by your Supervisor and submit your request for thesis conclusion confirmation again.
