COMPULSORY COURSES - ALLOCATIONS
Allocations of compulsory courses for students enrolled in the Master's degree programme
When you create your APSP/PSP, you can choose to attend your Master's degree programme entirely taught in English or with classes both in English and Italian.
The PSP of each path includes both courses that you can  select by yourself until all places in the course are full; and courses that will be assigned to students based on merit and on the order of preference expressed
Students enrolled in previous academic years who are required to attend introductory seminars must express their order of preference by the deadline for defining their annual perosnal study plan - 12th September 2025.
If you enrolled at Politecnico in a.y. 2025/2026 for the first time, we suggest you to fill out your APSP within the 12th September 2025 so that you have the possibility to rank your courses in order of preference for courses that are allocated by means of merit ranking. After this date, the Student Careers Unit will assign the courses to students ex officio.
ELECTIVE COURSES
You are free to include any first-year course (except for the introductory seminars from Table A and Table B) in your APSP until all places in the course are full.
If the course that you have selected is available, the system will let you add it to your APSP. If there are no more places available in the course, after having saved the APSP the system will display a message as shown in the picture:
In this case, you must open your PSP again and choose another course from the list.
Please make sure that you have actually included the selected course into your APSP. It can be verified in the section "Annual personal study plan - summary"
Considering that first-semester classes begin on 22nd September 2025, we suggest you to complete your APSP within this date.

4. After clicking on "Next", the procedure will allow you to order the courses according to your preference, using the arrows

5. To complete the step, click "Next" and verify that it has been successfully completed.

You can change the order of your preferences until the deadline of the personal study plan/annual personal study plan definition process, by returning to the personal study plan and annual personal study plan definition procedure, selecting the action "Change preferences for courses subject to ranking".

Allocations will take place in the following order:
  • Allocations to students attending the English-taught programme
  • Allocations to students attending the Italian/English -taught programme
Calculation of the merit score
The score of the merit ranking list is calculated as follows:

Students enrolled in a Master's degree programme

Calculation of the merit score
(total weighted average Three-year degree * 180) + [(GR1 * CFU1) + (GR2 * CFU2) + (GRn * CFUn)] _________________________________________________________________________________________
6 + number of semesters of enrollment in the Master's degree programme
6 is the minimum number of semesters required to attain the Bachelor's degree.
The number of semesters is intended as the number from the student’s first enrolment in the Master's degree programme; the calculation only takes into account the exams accepted and validated by Politecnico di Torino.
For allocations of 1st semester courses the merit is calculated taking into account the exams taken by each student by the end of the July 2025 examination session.
For allocations of 2nd semester courses the merit is calculated taking into account the exams taken by each student by the end of the September 2025 examination session.
If several students have the same position on the ranking list but the number of available seats is less than required, places in the course will be offered taking into account the number of exams passed with honors by each student, and subsequently by random computerized drawing.
If you do not express your order of preference by the above-mentioned deadlines,  you will be automatically assigned to the courses with residual places.
If necessary, the Student Careers Unit - Architecture may open a new time frame to rank the courses in order of preference (on top of the standard period), provided that there are at least two courses wih available places.
Allocations cannot be changed under any circumstances.
