Bachelor in
Electronic and Communications Engineering
  Chinese page
The new trends in Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) require more and more a multidisciplinary preparation that spans over the fields of Communications, Electronics and Computer Science. Three areas that “speak” English in a native way.
Are you ready for this challenge?
Electronic and Communications Engineering is what you are looking for: all courses are given in English, the official language of ICT. The first year of study gives the foundations of mathematics, physics, computer science, computer networks and electronics. The second year of studies offers more in depth knowledge of math and physics, and the fundamentals of electronic systems. The third year classes focus more specifically on ICT topics: algorithms and programming, digital transmission and computer networks, and advanced electronic systems.

APPLICATION DOMAINS

TOP-QUALITY TEACHING
Expert professors excelling in research. Teachers with an excellent scientific background and a worldwide reputation. They are active in research projects and collaborations at international level with Universities and companies.

Innovative and effective teaching. Practical experiences for a learning-by-doing approach, teamwork in projects, students’ team and challenges implement novel teaching methods.

An international view. All teaching activities are offered in English and more than 50% of ECE students comes from foreign countries offering a multicultural environment that promotes cultural exchanges. Several opportunities for student mobility are available during the program.

After the bachelor
Students normally choose to continue studying with any master degree in the ICT area offered by Politecnico di Torino.Natural choices would be the
  • Master Degree in Communications Engineering
  • Master Degree in ICT for Smart Societies
  • Master Degree in Electronic Engineering
ECE offers in any case a solid and multidisciplinary background that gives students the chance to continue with a Computer engineering degree or to choose an equivalent course abroad too. Here you can find some statistics from the official AlmaLaurea website.

STUDYING ABROAD
The ECE degree offers the possibility to study abroad in foreign Universities that support a mobility program. At the moment ECE has mobility agreements with:
  • Haute Ecole Francisco Ferrere, Brussels, Belgium;
  • Universities of Southeastern Conference (SEC) in USA: University of Alabama, University of Arkansas, Mississippi State University, Auburn University and University of Georgia (SEC-U program);
  • Tongji University, Tongji, China. (PoliTong program);
  • Poznan University of Technology, Poznan, Poland (only for ECE students enrolled in “Percorso per i Giovani Talenti” program).
 For more information, please refer to the official page of the Mobility Office, or contact the Mobility Coordinator for ECE Prof. Monica Visintin.
Internships
During the 3rd year the student can choose the Internship (Professional Training) in a company. Students who do not have in their Personal Study Plan both Free ECTS credits courses can include in their Personal Study Plan the Professional Training class with 12 credits. Students who do not have in their Personal Study Plan one Free ECTS credits course can include in in their Personal Study Plan the Professional Training class with 10 credits, out of which 6 credits are necessary to complete the total required number of credits and 4 will be extra-credits.
