Programme overview

During the Master’s degree programme in Communications Engineering (CE) you will learn how to design and operate any modern communication system, including satellite and radio links, fiber optic networks, computer networks and wireless networks. You will also learn how to develop and use state-of-the-art tools, such as communication systems simulators and machine learning, as well as how to process signals, images and videos.
The programme fully adopts a novel project-based approach, on top of laboratory activities and practical classes in all courses.
All classes are taught in English.

What will you learn and how?

The two-year program builds a strong foundation in advanced methodologies like machine learning, signal processing, information theory, and electromagnetics for designing communication systems, from optical and wireless links to large networks. In the second year, you can tailor your study plan with cutting-edge courses aligned with your interests.
You will gain skills in Python, Matlab, software-defined communications, network management, simulations, measurements, optical and wireless transmissions, quantum communications, security, cryptography, and deep learning.
Two semesters focus on projects: one on software-defined communications and another on applied communication systems and IoT. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, with 300+ hours of lab training in wireless and optical communication, networking, and signal processing, plus another 300 hours for the thesis. Advanced simulators and digital twins enhance practical experience. Strong industry ties provide opportunities for internships, thesis projects, placements, and seminars.
