"Cambiare il clima" live 2022

On July 5 at 6.30 pm the show-conference "Cambiare il Clima" will be staged live at Aula Magna of Politecnico di Torino.
"Cambiare il Clima" is a show by Faber Teater realized in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino - DIATI and guides the public to discover how scientific research and engineering contribute to face the challenges of climate change, based on the experience of our cambiamenti_climatici@polito project.

TIME FOR JOB

On 26 and 27 May 2022 Politecnico di Torino organizes, in collaboration with the Commissions of Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Energy Engineering and Environmental and Land Engineering (Environmental and Land Engineering and Georesources and Geoenergy Engineering programmes), the event "TIME FOR JOB - Info Day Internships" that brings together companies and students to meet for curricular internships.
The initiative, with free access, will be held at Politecnico di Torino (11.30 am -3:30 pm, premises of the Cittadella Politecnica - Area GESD- 2nd floor, entrance from 39, Corso Castelfidardo).
The event is open to students of the master’s and bachelor's degree programmes.

Politecnico di Torino organizes on 17-18-19 May the online OPEN DAYS dedicated to Master’s Degree courses and from 23 to 27 May the Orientation Daysin presence dedicated to Master’s Degree courses.
Days of online meetings and in presence meetings with professors and orientation experts, plus the opportunity to visit the stands and to follow the presentations of the Master’s degree programmes offered by our University in the areas of engineering, architecture, design and territorial planning. An opportunity to discover also the services, special projects and much more.

AKANoah student team activities

On Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 May, the AKANoah Polito student team, which refers directly to teachers of the DIATI, started again its activities.
On this occasion the instrumentation prepared for the environmental monitoring of river water was tested.

Assigned: M.Sc. Graduation Prizes and Doctoral Prizes in memory of Eng. Stefano Rigatelli

The M.Sc. Graduation Prizes and Doctoral Prizes funded by Piemonte Region in memory of Eng. Stefano Rigatelli have been assigned.
They were addressed to graduates in M.Sc. in Environmental and Land Engineering and in PhD at Politecnico di Torino who have obtained the title in the solar years 2020 and 2021 and have discussed a thesis on one of these topics: Reclamation of polluted sites, Environmental reclamation, Asbetos, Mitigation and Climate change.

Professors Fulvio Boano and Barbara Ruffino have been members of the jury for Politecnico, assisted by the engineer Giorgio Schellino of Piemonte Region.

The Commission, after a careful evaluation of all the applications received, has nominated four winning dissertations and two ex aequo winning doctoral theses, awarded for being characterized by a significant experimental activity and numerical modeling, with a high degree of scientific innovation.

4 Graduation Prizes

A call for 4 M.Sc. Graduation Prizesworth 2,000 euro gross each (1,843 euro net) funded by Piemonte Region in memory of Eng. Stefano Rigatelli is now open.
The call is reserved to graduates in the Master's Degree programme in Environmental and Land Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, who graduated in the years 2020 and 2021 and defended a thesis on one of these topics: Reclamation of polluted sites, Environmental reclamation, Asbetos, Mitigation and Climate change.
The deadline for applications is 10 January 2022.

First graduates in Climate Change at Politecnico

The first graduates in the "Climate Change" track of the Master's Degree in Environmental and Land Engineering defended their thesis on December 6th 2021.
Launched two years ago, this is the first engineering track in Europe specifically dedicated to climate change and it is fully offered in English. It thus completes PoliTo’s training offer in the field of environmental engineering, which includes the already consolidated tracks in Environmental Protection, Natural Hazards and Civil Protection and Geo-Engineering.

Virtual Job Fair PMI 2021 Sustainability

Virtual Job Fair PMI, the event dedicated to the meeting between students and graduates of Politecnico di Torino and Small and Medium Enterprises, will be back online again this year from 29 November 2021 for its fourth edition focused on the theme of sustainability in its broadest sense, including for example: Social, Agri-food, Energy and environment, Mobility and transport, Health and well-being.
Companies will have the opportunity to submit postgraduate internship and/ or job offers to students and graduates of  Politecnico di Torino.

2nd level Specializing Master's programme in "Climate Change: adaptation and mitigation solutions"

The call for applications for the third edition of the 2nd level Specializing Master's programme in "Climate Change: adaptation and mitigation solutions" is now open. 
The Master is designed for students and professionals who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of the climate change impact and the innovative technologies that will drive the mitigation and adaptation responses to global warming. 

Programme structure
It is a full time 1-year programme scheduled from January to December 2022.The teaching programme is structured as follows:
  • 19 courses, including frontal lectures, lab activities and hands-on tutorials (44 credits) – from January to July
  • 500-hour internship (20 credits) – between September and November

Green technologies – double degree and diploma supplement programmes

Politecnico di Torino has adhered to the experimental advanced training project "Technologies for Transitions", aimed at training engineering professionals qualified to deal with the multidimensional problems posed by the ecological transition (Green Technologies) and the digital and infrastructure transition (Smart Infrastructures), themes of great strategic importance in the framework of the Next Generation EU. The students included in the pathway will be able to:
  • after obtaining their degree, enrol in another Master's Degree programme with a career shortening for the achievement of a double degree;
  • define a study plan for the Master's Degree programme by including credits (elective and additional) related to the acquisition of specific skills in Smart Infrastructures or Green Technologies, which will be explicitly described in the diploma supplement.
The Master's Degree programme in Environmental Engineering (Environmental Protection and Climate Change tracks) participate to the "Technologies for the Ecological Transition (Green Technologies)" programme, in conjunction with the Master's Degree programmes in Energy Engineering and Chemical Engineering. 
A selection procedure will be launched in October 2021 to collect applications, more information is available at the following link

10 Scholarships for Climate Change track

The call for applications for 10 scholarships (2,000 euros each) for students enrolled for the first time in A.Y. 2021/2022 in the M.Sc. in Environmental and Land Engineering - Climate Change track - is now open. Deadline for applications is October 25, 2021. Candidates shall have finalized the application procedure to the M.Sc. in Environmental and Land Engineering by the official deadline of October 22.

Agroinnovation Award 2019

Congratulations to Aurora Audino, former student at the M.Sc. in Environmental and Land Engineering and winner of the Agroinnovation Award 2019 for Master thesis in the sector of sustainability of agroecosystems and environmental protection.
Aurora’s thesis focused on modelling the dispersion of plant protection products in the subsoil and was conducted in the framework of Nanograss project coordinated by Prof. Tiziana Tosco. Here the article presenting her thesis.

The Politecnico di Torino organized the online OPEN DAYS from the 25 to the 29 of May  2020: five days of meetings with professors, students and orientation experts, plus the possibility to follow the presentation of 23 Bachelor and 30 Master Degrees. Live Open Days are now over but contents remain available online and you can benefit of extra initiatives promoted by our degree and master courses.
