Master course in
Civil Engineering

This pathway is fully taught in english (some courses are also offered in Italian).
The pathway in Structural Engineering aims at training professionals who are able to:
- apply theoretical and applied principles of structural mechanics, including experimental and computational tools for the assessment of the static as well as the dynamic behaviour of structures in response to a wide range of static forcings;
- assess the vulnerability, reliability, comfort and safety of structures
- use techniques for the optimization of structures considering aspects related to statics, dynamics, stability, fracture and collapse;
- use cutting edge computational and experimental tools for the design of non-conventional complex structures;
- develop computational tools to model the interaction between structures and the surrounding environment (water, wind, earthquakes);
- develop methodologies for the assessment of materials and their mechanical behaviour;
- design new structures as well as the recovery and rehabilitation of old structures.
