Admissions a.y. 2018/2019
Before reading  this document, please read the general Admission Rules for Politecnico di Torino Master's degree programmes of the Architecture Area.
To apply for our Master's degree programmes fill out the online application form available on the Apply@polito portal.
You can  apply for a maximum of two Master's degrees programmes and you need to rank them in order of preference:  if you are considered eligible for both programmes,  you will only be allowed to enrol in the Master's degree programme which you  indicated as your first choice.

You can apply for admission if you  have already graduated or if you are still a student and you  have earned at least 140 credits (this is considered the minimum number of credits for the assessment of your previous academic records):
  • by July 2018: for admission in first semester
  • by the deadline for the submission of applications: for admission in second semester
The deadlines for the submission of applications are illustrated in the Deadlinessection.
Failure to comply with these procedure and deadlines will result in your automatic exclusion from admission to our Master's degree programmes.
In order to be admitted to a Master's degree programme, you  need to meet the "curricular requirements", the "language requirements" and have achieved an academic performance considered suitable for admission.

Admissions to the Masters’ degree programme in Territorial, Urban, Environmental and Landscape Planning  are possible both in first and in second semester. You have to stick to the deadlines and meet the admission requirements.
Curricular requirements
A specifically-appointed Committe will verify if you meet the curricular requirements for admission through the Apply@polito portal
The curricular requirements for admission are:
  • a three-year Bachelor's degree or university diploma, or other educational qualification obtained outside Italy and recognised suitable for admission in accordance with article 6 c. 2 of D.M. 270/04;
  • the competences and knowledge you acquired during your Bachelor’s studies (in terms of credits related to specific Scientific Disciplinary Fields), as detailed in the following table:

Each course can be linked to one or more Scientific Disciplinary Field (SSD).  Each Scientific Disciplinary Field can be associated to either core subjects or to distinguishing/related subjects.
When a course provides credits that are valid for various Scientific Disciplinary Fields:
  • credits are counted as credits for core subjects in the first place;
  • residual credits are counted as credits for distinguishing and related subjects.
This means that some course credits are counted to reach the minimum threshold for core subjects, while the remaining credits are counted to reach the threshold required for distinguishing and related subjects.
If you reached the threshold in one field, but you lack less than 10 credits in the other field (core subjects or distinguishing /related subjects) the Teaching Committee will consider if there are similarities among the Scientific Disciplinary Fields and provide guidance.
Your Bachelor’s degree will be assessed by the Teaching  Committee which will decide if you have any unfulfilled academic requirements. In this case you will have to make up for your  unfulfilled academic requirements before you enrol in the programme.
To make up for your unfulfilled academic requirements, you need to enrol in Single Courses, attend them and pass the exams.
 Only for candidates who have to make up for some unfulfilled academic requirements:If you pass the admission test, your offer of admission is valid also for academic year 2019/2020 (i.e., after you take the exams related to your unfulfilled academic requirements)
Language requirements
You are required to have an English language certificate - IELTS 5.0 or other certificate accepted in substitution for IELTS - in order to apply.
The English language certificate is an admission requirement. This means that without this certificate you will not be admitted to our Master’s degree programmes.

(1)The weighted average is calculated as follows: ¿ (grade*credits) / ¿ credits
