Admission A.Y. 2020/21*
Prospective students applying for a Master’s degree programme at Politecnico di Torino must have an English language certificate (CEFR – B2 level). This is an admission requirement.
In order to achieve the
English B2 level, applicants has to refer to the table of the certificates accepted or exemptions compared to possession of IELTS 5.0 and IELTS 5.5 certificates. The possession of the certificate B2 level (IELTS 5.0) is required for the admission to all Master's degree programmes.
Politecnico needs to verify your English language certificate.
If you have an IELTS certificate, please enter the
TRF number of your IELTS certificate on the
Apply@polito platform. You can find this number on your certificate.
If you have a Cambridge certificate, you do not need to upload a scanned copy of your certificate. The system will ask you to enter the certificate numbers for automatic verification.
If you have an English language certificate other than IELTS or Cambridge you must upload a scanned copy of your certificate to the Apply@polito platform. You must also show your original certificate to the Office of Student Services on the day of the appointment for the delivery of your smart card.
Admission decisions are not based on the date of the language certificate but only on the applicant’s language level.
Eligibility and English language exams passed at other universities are NOT considered substitutes for the required language certification.
It is possible to access to the Master’s Degree Programmes even if you do not have the language certificate required by the deadline to enrol. The enrollment will be a conditional enrollment. You will have to obtain the language certificate within 30th of June 2021 31st December 2021
Extended the deadline to submit the English language certificate On 23/03/2021 The Academic Senate has approved the extension of the deadline to submit the English language certificate for students enrolled in a.y 2020/21 who submitted the Language declaration for covid-19 to 31st December 2021. If the graduation takes place before the 31st December, the deadline to submit the certificate would be the one for the registration for the final examination.
*During a transitional period, until the a. y. 2021/2022 to obtain the CEFR – B2 level is considered valuable IELTS 5.0 or certificates accepted.
- If you are an applicant with a foreign title to be admitted to a Master's Degree course held in italian language a certificate of knowledge of italian language of level B2 or higher is required, as defined by the Common European Framework of reference for the knowledge of languages (QCER).
IMPORTANT As a consequence of the Covid-19 health emergency, some examination boards have suspended their language exams for international certificates. If you have been unable to get your Italian language certificate for this reason, please:- log in to the Apply@polito plaform
- select the “Language skills” section and choose the option "language declaration for covid-19".
- go to the “Attachment” section and upload this DECLARATION before the enrolment deadline
In this case, you are enrolled at Politecnico “WITH CONDITION” (conditional enrolment).You need to drop this provisional condition before 30th June 2021 within 31st December 2021 by presenting your Italian language certificate.

If you have a foreign high school diploma, you may be required to show your original Italian language certificate to the to the Incoming Mobility Office.
