The rapid pace of urbanization at a global level, poverty reduction and unequal distribution of resources are some of the key issues described in the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The programme aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop an interdisciplinary approach to international development cooperation and manage projects which encompass urban, architectural and technological dimension. The programme has a multidisciplinary focus on technologies, i.e. topics related to architecture and design, energy and climate, water, sanitation and the environment.
The 2nd level specializing Master is a full time programme of approximately one academic year duration for a total of 60 ECTS; it will start in May 2019.
Lectures are held in English at Politecnico di Torino - starting in May 2019.
Activities are developed in 10 + 1 modules (the + 1 module involves a team exercise on a case study). The programme includes a combination of teaching methods such as face - to - face lectures, seminars and practical activities. It is managed in cooperation with international institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Soft skills and abilities related to community involvement as well as strategic communication and project reporting are addressed in module 10 but also developed in each module.
Participants complete their studies with an internship (3 months, 500 hours) either abroad or in Italy
