Academic Writing for Urban Planning, Architecture and Design is a 15-hr soft skills course for PhD candidates who need to write in English in the disciplines of Urban Planning, Architecture and Design. The course aims to develop your academic writing skills in English, in the context of your disciplinary area. Full attendance is required. Number of participants per course min. 10 – max. 20

Participants will first develop the ability to make suitable word and grammar choices, and then to structure sentences and paragraphs in order to produce coherent texts. Useful tools will be introduced to support autonomy in academic writing in English. Course structure 15 hours (5x3hr lessons), 1 week from Monday to Friday. NB: full attendance to the course is required. When enrolment periods begin, an enrolment button becomes available under the Languages/LINGUE tab on your personal page of the Teaching Portal. Once each enrolment period is closed, no further participants will be admitted. A maximum of 20 places is available for each iteration of the course. Before registering, please make sure that the timetable does not overlap with any other university commitments. You must register for the course in order to take part to the classes.
