Academic Writing for Urban Planning, Architecture and Design (AWPAD) is a 15-hr soft skills course for PhD candidates who need to write in English in the disciplines of Urban Planning, Architecture and Design.
Academic Writing for Urban Planning, Architecture and Design (AWPAD) is a 15-hr soft skills course for PhD candidates who need to write in English in the disciplines of Urban Planning, Architecture and Design.
In order to be able to use the AWPAD registration link, the course must be in your career plan for the current academic year. Recommended level of English for participation: B2

Course structure 15 hours (5x3hr lessons), concentrated in 1 week from Monday to Friday. Contents Participants will first develop the ability to make suitable word and grammar choices, and then structure sentences and paragraphs in order to produce coherent texts. Useful tools will be introduced to support autonomy in academic writing in English. Registration for the course You need to register for the course via the dedicated link you will find on your PoliTo personal page, under the “Languages/Lingue” TAB. This link will be active during the registration periods scheduled for each course. The AWPAD registration link will only work if the course is in your career plan for the current academic year. A maximum of 20 places are available for each iteration of the course. The course opens with a minimum of 10 participants. Please Note: you must register for the course in order to take part in the course. IMPORTANT: Once each registration period is closed, no further students will be admitted. Requirements for recording the course in your transcript In order to have WSPE recorded in your transcript, you need to fulfill the following academic requirements: • attend 100% of the lessons • complete all the assigned coursework For further information on the course please use the ticketing system available on your PoliTo personal page (“Ticket” label on your task bar).
