Introduction to sustainable development goals, to European and international policies for their implementation, to indicators and sustainability assessment methods for monitoring SDGs. The content of the course will be as follows - Key elements of sustainability science - Global environmental challenges and related socio-economics mega trends - Analysis of relationships and interlinkages among SDGs - SDGs policy context: Introduction to Sustainable development goals and to sustainability assessment. The international and European policy context. The medium and long-term vision to sustainability and the enabling factors. - Integrated modelling: ┐ Territorial modelling (including the use of Earth Observations), sectorial modelling (e.g. those relying on input/output modelling), supply chain modelling (e.g. Life cycle assessment). ┐ Integration of models and meta-models

The course, oriented to policies and solutions development, will give an overview of the SDGs including approaches on how to frame the problems and their interlinkages, the selection of models, indicators, and data enabling the evaluation of benefits and drawbacks.
