PERIOD: MAY - JUNE - JULY Industrial utilization of materials and energy have been so relevant since the last two centuries. Industry is responsible for about 30% of the final energy uses. The overall efficiency is far from the achievable one nowadays, by using best available technologies, as indicated in the Best Available Techniques Reference Document (BREFs). In addition, the application of advanced technologies and materials, as well as modern analysis tools, allow one to achieve further improvements. However it is clear that energy challenges in industry require multi-disciplinary approaches for achieving the previous goals. The course outlines that framework and discusses new methodologies and technologies (TRL ≤ 6) which can contribute to a more efficient use of energy and materials in future factories. At the end of the course, the student will be able to recognize the main material and immaterial issues arisen from energy utilization in industry. The student will be able to recognize the key future technological trends (TRL ≥ 7) in industrial end uses.

Exam:
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
