Course description

PERIODO: FEBBRAIO - LUGLIO Il corso si propone di fornire agli studenti ed alle studentesse le conoscenze di base per la progettazione di dispositivi medici. Si prester� attenzione a: (i) i criteri per la selezione del materiale costituente (polimerico, inorganico), e (ii) le tecniche di modifica/trattamento dei biomateriali per migliorare la biocompatibilit�/bioattivit�. Il corso includer� anche casi di studio in chirurgia dentale, ortopedica ed urologica.

PERIOD: FEBRUARY - JULY The course aims at providing Ph.D. students with basic knowledge for the design of surgically inspired medical devices. Attention will be given to (i) the criteria for the selection of the constituent material (polymeric, inorganic), and (ii) the available approaches for biomaterial treatment/modification to improve biocompatibility/bioactivity/biomimicry. The course will also include practical case studies in surgery (i.e., dental, orthopedic and urological applications).

- Biomateriali polimerici (5 ore) - Sviluppo e trattamento di biomateriali con approcci sostenibili (3 ore) - Biomateriali inorganici (6 ore) - Casi di studio: biomateriali in applicazioni dentali, ortopediche ed urologiche (6 ore)

- Polymeric biomaterials (5 hrs) - Design and treatment of biomaterials through green approaches (3 hrs) - Inorganic biomaterials (6 hrs) - Case studies in surgery: biomaterials for dental, orthopedic, and urological applications (4 hrs)
