The training course aims to deliver the basics related to the acquisition, processing and feature extraction techniques of remotely sensed imageries, paying particular attention to environmental and climate change topics
The training course aims to deliver the basics related to the acquisition, processing and feature extraction techniques of remotely sensed imageries, paying particular attention to environmental and climate change topics
The main aim is to deliver to student the ability to correctly identify environmental challenges and issues, to better understand possible data to be used, its suitability, and data processing chain in order to extract value added information in a common georeferenced system. Students will be trained in: - electromagnetic theory, interactions between electromagnetic energy and atmospheric layers and ground surfaces, visual perception and colorimetry - sensors data acquisition - image processing - information extraction - environmental and climate change relateci applications. Related to technical communication: - ability to analize complex environmental problems, defining proper data to be used, processing chains, information extraction strategies, achieved results publication and dissemination; - ability to approach different domain of applications using remotely sensed data; - ability to assessresults in a fully quantitative way; - ability to set up data processing procedures suitable to approach non conventional applications.. Such expertises will be acquired also working directly on application cases, drafting also different technical solutions.

Students attending this training course, already know geomatics basics (digitai mapping, GPS techniques, surveying) and computer science basics.

The exam will consist of theoretical and practice oriented questions aiming to verity student's preparation. The technical operating procedures through video communication tools must comply with the provisions of R.D. 217 of 28 February 2020: •use of a video communication system chosen by professors that in order to check, monitor and watch students during the exam; •facial recognition of students by means of an identity document and comparison with the photograph in the university database; •presence of a witness from outside the examination board (e.g. another student); •declaration by students that they did not use any tools and that there were no support persons on the premises to support them during the exam. In order to take part in the exam, students must be equipped with adequate means: personal computer with a webcam or tablet, browser, network connection suitable for videoconferencing.
Exam: Compulsory oral exam;
