L’insegnamento si propone di evidenziare ed esaminare le problematiche geologico-tecniche che si riscontrano durante la realizzazione di un’opera o infrastruttura o di un qualsiasi altro contesto ambientale, al fine di trovare le opportune soluzioni geologico-tecniche. L’insegnamento avrà carattere essenzialmente applicativo. Le problematiche geologico-tecniche affrontate saranno relative a: - fenomeni gravitativi e di instabilità di versanti con particolare attenzione alle diverse tipologie di opere di difesa e di monitoraggio; - fenomeni idrogeologici con particolare attenzione ai rischi di esondazione e relative opere di difesa spondale e di monitoraggio; - fenomeni valanghivi con particolare attenzione alle opere di difesa e protezione Il corso inoltre intende fornire le conoscenze tecniche sulla cartografia di base, sulla lettura e l’interpretazione di dati cartografici nonché la realizzazione di una semplice cartografia geologico-tecnica dei casi analizzati, corredata da una relazione tecnica. Durante il corso sono previste esercitazioni in aula e uscite didattiche nelle quali verranno affrontati i concetti teorici esposti a lezione e verranno inoltre approfondite e studiate le specifiche problematiche geologico-tecniche legate sia ad una infrastruttura sia ad un contesto puramente ingegneristico ambientale, al fine di poter produrre una cartografia e una relazione tecnica dei casi analizzati.
The course aims to highlight and examine the geological-technical problems encountered during the design of infrastructures or land context in order to find the appropriate technical solutions. The course will be essentially applicative. The geological-technical problems addressed will be related to: - gravitational phenomena and slope instability with particular attention to the different types of defense and monitoring works; - hydrogeological phenomena with particular attention to flooding risks and related plant defense and monitoring works. - avalanche phenomena with particular attention to defense and protection works. The course also aims to provide technical knowledge on basic cartography, on the reading and interpretation of cartographic data as well as the creation of a simple geological-technical cartography of the cases analyzed, accompanied by a technical report. During the course, exercises and field trips will be held in which the theoretical concepts exposed in class will be addressed and the specific geological-technical problems related to the infrastructures and land context, in order to be able to produce a cartography and a report technique of the cases analyzed.
L’obiettivo delle lezioni teoriche è di: - fornire gli strumenti di carattere generale grazie ai quali lo studente sia in grado di riconoscere ed affrontare le problematiche geologico-tecniche legate all’ambiente circostante; - fornire gli elementi necessari alla redazione di una relazione geologico-tecnica; L’obiettivo delle esercitazioni è quello di verificare direttamente sui casi pratici presi in esame le nozioni teoriche. Le uscite didattiche hanno lo scopo di far apprendere le metodologie di investigazione sul terreno e verificare direttamente l’applicabilità dei concetti affrontati nelle ore di lezione frontale e di esercitazione.
The aim of the lessons is to: - provide the general tools through which the student is able to recognize and deal with geological-technical problems related to the land context; - provide the elements necessary for the preparation of a geological-technical report. The objective of the exercises is to verify the theoretical concepts directly on the practical cases examined. The field trips are intended to teach the investigation methods on the ground and directly verify the applicability of the concepts dealt with in the lessons and exercise hours.
Materie di base: concetti generali di geologia, matematica, fisica, chimica, utilizzo di software GIS.
General knowledge of the geological aspects, fundamentals of mathematics, physics and chemistry; knowledge of GIS software.
Lezioni frontali: 1) I diversi contesti ambientali [30 ore LF] 1a. L’ambiente geologico urbano, l’ambiente di pianura fluviale, l’ambiente montano/glaciale. 1b. Aspetti geologico-tecnici Caratteristiche strutturali degli ammassi rocciosi, assetto tettonico. 1c. Problematiche geologiche Problematiche di natura gravitativa, problematiche di dinamica fluviale e torrentizia, problematiche di idrogeologia sotterranea, problematiche valanghive. 2) Sistemi di monitoraggio [10 ore LF] 2a. Il monitoraggio di versanti instabili, monitoraggio idrogeologico. 3) Cartografia geologico-tecnica [circa 10 ore EA] 3a. Lettura e interpretazione di cartografia geologica e geologico-tecnica, realizzazione di profili geologico-tecnici. Esercitazioni [circa 10 ore EA]: Le esercitazioni verranno svolte in gruppi di quattro/cinque studenti che affronteranno e analizzeranno i casi studio con le relative problematiche geologiche al fine di predisporre un elaborato geologico-tecnico specifico per ciascun caso. Le uscite didattiche verranno realizzate al fine di completare il quadro conoscitivo generale e verificare direttamente sul terreno i concetti appresi a lezione.
Lessons Environmental context [30 h L] 1a. urban context, fluvial plain context, glacial land context. 1b. Geological-technical aspects Structural characteristics of rock masses, tectonic structure. 1c. Geological problems Gravitational phenomena, river and torrent dynamics problems, problems of hydrogeology, avalanches problems. Monitoring systems [10 h L] The monitoring of instability slopes, hydrogeological monitoring. Geological-technical cartography [about 10 h E] Reading and interpretation of geological-technical cartography and realization of geological-technical profiles. Exercises [about 10 h E]: The exercises will be carried out in groups of four/five students who will analyze the case studies in order to prepare a specific geological-technical report for each case. The field trips will be carried out in order to complete the general knowledge framework and verify the concepts learned in class directly on the field trip.

Gli studenti e le studentesse con disabilità o con Disturbi Specifici di Apprendimento (DSA), oltre alla segnalazione tramite procedura informatizzata, sono invitati a comunicare anche direttamente al/la docente titolare dell'insegnamento, con un preavviso non inferiore ad una settimana dall'avvio della sessione d'esame, gli strumenti compensativi concordati con l'Unità Special Needs, al fine di permettere al/la docente la declinazione più idonea in riferimento alla specifica tipologia di esame.

In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.

Elaborato scritto prodotto in gruppo, prova orale obbligatoria. Le relazioni tecniche corredate dagli elaborati cartografici saranno oggetto di valutazione ai fini dell’esame e dovranno essere consegnate in anticipo (10 giorni) rispetto alla data fissata per l’appello orale al fine della loro analisi da parte del docente. L’esame finale consisterà nella valutazione degli elaborati prodotti da ciascun gruppo, che costituirà la base della valutazione, e nella presentazione e discussione dell’elaborato durante l’esame orale. Ciascun gruppo dovrà illustrare in un breve seminario della durata massima di 10 minuti il contenuto dell’elaborato prodotto evidenziando le criticità dell’area esaminata e motivando le eventuali scelte di mitigazione della problematica riscontrata. L’esposizione orale sarà seguita da domande teoriche che il docente farà ad ogni singolo studente. Il voto individuale, somma delle varie valutazioni descritte qui di seguito, sarà riferito alla qualità della relazione presentata e ai contenuti in essa descritti (per un punteggio massimo di 10 punti), alla capacità espositiva durante il seminario (punteggio massimo pari a 10 punti) e all’efficacia delle risposte alle domande individuali (massimo 10 punti).

Written report produced in groups, obligatory oral exam. The technical reports accompanied by the cartographic documents will be evaluated for the purposes of the exam and must be delivered in advance (10 days) with respect to the date set for the oral appeal for the intend of their analysis by the teacher. The final exam will consist in the evaluation of the reports produced by each group, which will form the basis of the evaluation, and in the presentation and discussion of the relation during the oral exam. Each group will have to illustrate in a short seminar of a maximum duration of 10 minutes the content of the elaborate product highlighting the critical issues of the examined area and motivating the design choices adopted. The oral presentation will be followed by theoretical questions that the teacher will ask each individual student. The individual vote will refer to the quality of the report presented and the contents described therein (maximum score: 10), the exhibition capacity during the seminar (maximum score: 10) and the effectiveness of the answers to the individual questions (maximum score: 10).
