The course proposes an in-depth overview of Information communication technologies and theoretical concepts that are at the basis of the Industry 4.0 revolution. The aim is to provide to the students the basic knowledge to manage the digitalization process of industries and manufacturing. The course will give particular emphasis to data, its representation using VAR and the associated ICT technologies as key factor for a competitive enterprise.

The course aims to provide students with the knowledge of enabling and founding technologies of industry 4.0. This will provide the students with the ability to operate in enterprises that are adopting the industry 4.0 paradigm and support the ones that are shifting into it. Moreover, the students will develop the ability to operate and understand digital technologies with a critic overview of the possible solutions. Finally, the students will develop the capacity to self-update their knowledge in a process of Life Long Learning.

Exam:
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
