The internship is configured as a F-type educational activity assessable in 10 Formative Credits and corresponding to 250 hours of commitment at the host institution. The internship takes place in the second semester of the second year of the Master's Degree and can be carried out in two ways: - Free: the internship takes the form of a training activity; - Tied to the thesis: the internship is configured as a professionalizing activity for students who have chosen a professionalizing thesis, rather than a research thesis. In both modes, the internship allows the student to carry out professionalizing activities with a strong application content with public bodies and private firms working in the following fields: architectural and urban design, restoration, environmental evaluations and energy retrofits, economic evaluation of projects, landscape architecture, interior architecture and design. The training project of the internship must be validated by a corporate tutor at the host institution/studio and, subsequently, by a faculty member of the graduate program who serves as the academic tutor. The academic tutor must be identified by the student. The tutors (corporate and academic) will follow the student during his/her internship. During the internship, the student must complete daily timesheets containing the activities performed and the number of hours. In case of professionalizing thesis, the activities carried out during the internship form the basis for the choice of the disciplinary topic to be explored in the Thesis, which involves a commitment of an additional 20 graduate credits; the academic tutor of the internship will therefore also be the supervisor of the thesis. Students may decide whether to carry out the internship: - at an institution or studio of their choice (in Piedmont, Italy or abroad); - at an institution or studio among those identified by the referents of the internships of the degree course. The procedures for choosing and assigning internships and the bureaucratic steps the student must follow before, during and after the internship will be uploaded on the teaching portal under "Internship." Reference Teachers: Francesca Abastante, Arianna Astolfi

There are no constraints on the conduct of the Internship in the Master's Degree. Some public institutions or private firms require students to send to the corporate tutor or personnel office of the host institution: a CV, a motivational letter, and a cover letter from a Politecnico di Torino faculty member (in English if the internship is abroad).
