Obiettivi dell'insegnamento
PERIODO: GIUGNO-LUGLIO
The aim of this course is to describe and discuss a Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodology supported by specific tools in order to optimize the AEC process linking architecture data, energy simulations, Facility Management (FM) and ICT technologies. All information will be supported by tests carried out on the Politecnico di Torino case study, investigated during the execution of the Smart Energy Efficient Middleware for Public Spaces (SEEMPubS) project. |

Programma
Starting from specific consideration on the fragmentation of the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry and the related processes employed during planning, designing, building, manufacturing, occupying, maintenance, as well as the demolition of facilities, at present, the main goal of researches as SEEMPubS is the definition of a methodology that allows the standardization of data and information that is used for a wide variety of purposes during the project lifecycle. Because of this complex nature of AEC projects, today the process engage multiple organizations, numerous stakeholders, such as interdisciplinary professionals, often spread around the world, utilizing specialist and diversified computer applications and systems. Thus, in order to effectively support the optimal use of information, organizations need to be able to represent their project data in a common interpretable form, which provides a facility of an accurate exchange of data among different computer systems and platforms.
Specifically, this course investigates the current state of interoperability between software applications used in BIM in conjunction with collaborative delivery of projects by interdisciplinary teams like Architects, Engineers, Energy Managers, Facility Manager and ICT experts within the AEC industry. Key attention will be paid to the de format for BIM models as IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), gbXML and others. It will be recognized that methods and tools for representation of project data need to take into account modern concepts of project delivery, like concurrent engineering, collaborative product development, or IPD (Integrated Project Delivery). The methodology to investigate the AEC problems in this course involves digital model prototyping and testing in a given workflow to examine model integrity tested in the SEEMPubS project. By the Politecnico di Torino campus’ case study, it will be presented the state of the art of the interoperability between the architectural parametric model and the analytic model for lighting, heating and cooling simulations as well as the interoperability between these data models and the FM model. Finally, by the use of QR code, it will investigated as a selection of these data can be shown to end users by smart phone in an innovative way. |
