Presentazione
The scope of the course is the illustration of the applications of ionizing radiation both in the medical (diagnosis and therapy) and in the industrial field (non-destructive analysis, industrial processes). The course can be divided in two parts. In the first one a description of the main devices for the production and detection of radiation are described, together with the main techniques that use ionizing radiations. In the second portion of the course the fundamentals of radiation propagation are presented, together with the mathematical and computational tools for the study of direct and inverse problems encountered in practical applications.
