Presentazione
The course has two main objectives.
• Provide key elements for traffic and transport analysis (which account for more than 60%, 73% in Italy of logistic process costs) using mathematical models. Main topics are: Traffic flow theory, Traffic and transport Models, Discreet Choice Model and Demand Forecast Models. • Provide a framework of current and evolutionary scenarios on Supply Chain Management, logistics and transport in Automotive industry by analyzing the main organizational and managerial issues and providing guidance about the best practice solutions adopted by world's leading companies. |
Programma
Methods for Transport and Traffic analysis in Logistics:
o Introduction on Logistics o Traffic flow theory: -Micro and Macro characteristics of traffic flow; -Performance indicator to assess quality of traffic; -Fundamental Diagram(different point of view; - Level of services; -Non stationary condition; -Traffic data collection; -Microscopic approach (Driver behavior and Car following law) o Transport Models: Demand Mod.; -Supply Mod.-Assignment Models. o Discreet Choice Models o Demand forecast Models: -Time series Analysis; -Forecast accuracy; -Forecast methods (extrapolative, causal). Supply Chain and Supply Chain Management (SCM) o Evolution of the concept of applied logistics o The goals of Supply Chain Management: -Flexibility / Responsiveness; -Lead time reduction; -Stock reduction; -Cost reduction. o The two main flows to be managed:-Informational and decisional flow:planning and execution; - Physical flow: transport of goods from suppliers to production and from production to customers: distribution policies and transport management: -Supply Chain organization, processes, management tools. o Supply Chain process interaction: -Interaction amongst Order Management, Production Management and Product offer: ETO: Engineering to Order,BTO: Build to Order, PTO: Procure to Order, ATO: Assemble to Order, MTS: Make to Stock o Interaction between product and logistics: -What is Total Supply Cost; -How to design product and process to minimize Total Supply Cost; -Late Stage Customization; - How to design and manage Bill of Material to minimize Total Supply Cost. o Interaction amongst Order Management, Service Level, Inventory and Lead Time o Planning and Scheduling: - Sales & Operational Planning; - Demand Planning; -Bullwhip effect; -Production Planning (MPS); - Material Planning & Procurement(MRP); -Order Planning and Fulfillment; - Material flow and transport optimization from suppliers to plants; -Finished product distribution. Standards in Automotive Logistics o Why do we need standards o EDI Standards o Containerization standards o Labelling/Bar code/RFID Best practice testimonial o IVECO P&S o FIAT o CRF . |
