Subject fundamentals
The Course aims to introduce the students to the basics of Industrial Processes Management, starting from Strategies and dealing with all main chapters of Industrial Cycle, exploring all main phases included in Time to Market and touching all main systems and tools of a World Class Company.
Expected learning outcomes
Understanding Automotive Industrial Strategies and Key Management and Performance Indicators
Understanding macro phases and key activities of Industrialization Process in order to better perform Product and Process Engineering
Exploring methodologies and tools necessary to set and manage Workplace, Capital Invested and Supply Chain through the World Class approach
Understanding Human Resources Organisation strategies, Labour contracts aspects and introducing People Development approach for Human Resources management to create Continuous Improvement mechanisms
Understanding health and safety legal requirements and envisioning environmental and safety aspect in the World Class approach
Prerequisites / Assumed knowledge
Basics on product and process technologies for body and power-train systems in automotive, historical evolutions of automotive industries and economics basics

Actual Strategies in Automotive Industries and Key Management Indicators and link to Cost Deployment; Industrialization Process and Early Product Management; Manufacturing Systems Analysis and criteria for Early Process Management; Workplace System analysis and Work Analysis organization; Maintenance System Management criteria; Total Quality Management and Continuous Improvement approach; Logistics System and Supply Chain Management.

Company Organisation and Human Resources management for People Development, Labour costs and contracts; Managerial Criteria for World Class Manufacturing applications.

Environment, Health and Safety Management with focus on safety and health legal requirements and workplace ergonomics.

Exercises with practical case studies, Companies guests lectures and plant visits referred to the theoretical programme.

Assessment and grading criteria
A preliminary test on basics will be held at the end of the first part of the program. The final examination will consist of open written questions and a final oral interview
