The course focuses on the city as a part of the Cultural Heritage also identifying in its history a knowledge
that needs to be shared.
It provides an interdisciplinary approach through a wide spreading of disciplines (urban history, architectural
history, art history, social sciences, geomatics, ICT) by the contribution of international experts.
The discourse on Digital Urban History will be deepened as a field of the academic research as well as a
main area of interest of historical museums, particularly museums of the city.
Lectures of international experts will focus on places, spaces, buildings, and the related immaterial aspects
of urban history through an approach to "the making history" strictly related to the dissemination of the
outcomes. They will discuss case studies composing historical analyses by digital tools (i.e. GIS, 3D
modelling, web GIS, interactive graphics) considering both digital and traditional tools. The exempla will
present storytelling and scientific visualisations to make research and to exhibit the history of the city.
