PERIOD: FEBRUARY - MARCH - APRIL The course provides with the elements at the basis of landslide risk analysis, to be carried out both for designing and planning purposes. The correct terminology, fundamental for the dialogue between the bodies concerned, as well as a description of the main methodologies for risk analysis at small and large scale will be given. All the steps of a risk analysis will be discussed in detail, with special regard to hazard evaluation, vulnerability estimation and risk calculation, distinguishing between physical social and economic risk. The main activities for the landslide risk mitigation will be presented and the way in which to take into account their effects in a risk analysis, coming to the estimation of residual risk, will be set out. Some case histories will be also shown.
