Inter-related components of sustainable development: economic prosperity, social development, and environmental protection cannot be achieved without a sustainable and reliable supply of energy. Thus, energy affordability and security are among the hottest geopolitical arguments at the moment. To provide for energy sustainability and security will require many vigorous actions and cooperative steps, within the European Union and in the international context, in exploring avenues for increased efficiency of energy use as well as deployment of new sources and systems for energy supply, and the consideration of technological considerations (such as digitalization) and the regulation of energy and emission markets, and social aspects (such as energy poverty).
The integration of smart grid technologies, sustainable energy resources and low-carbon emissions in power systems is an important route to sustainable development and a very special responsibility of the scientific community to help implement this transition towards a low-carbon economy and society.
The course discusses the interrelationship of energy, environment, climate sustainable development and the interlinkages with SDGs with attention to an assumption that smart grids and new market designs can make a significant and comprehensive contribution to energy and environment sustainability, and also helps control climate change.

Exam:
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
