PERIOD: JANUARY - FEBRUARY - MARCH This course aims at providing PhD students with a wide perspective on the main operational challenges of hypersonic flight. Worldwide, both aeronautical and space domains are currently conveying their interest in the field of hypersonic transportation. Indeed, on one side, the development of enabling technologies is urging Europe to guarantee the future of the civil long haul routes flight as well as the future reusable access to space initiatives. On the other side, operational challenges need to be tackled as well. In this context, this course offers to students a wide overview of the main operational challenges related to high-speed transportation like for example the investigation of possible solutions to integrate high-speed vehicles into the future CNS/ATM scenario and to assess the economic and environmental compatibility of the concepts currently under development. At this purpose, all along the course, the presence of a considerable number of international experts, currently leading the most active research centres activity working on high-speed is foreseen.

Exam:
In addition to the message sent by the online system, students with disabilities or Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) are invited to directly inform the professor in charge of the course about the special arrangements for the exam that have been agreed with the Special Needs Unit. The professor has to be informed at least one week before the beginning of the examination session in order to provide students with the most suitable arrangements for each specific type of exam.
