Il corso introduce gli elementi fondamentali dei circuiti elettrici e illustra i principali sistemi elettrici ed elettronici, con particolare attenzione alle applicazioni di interesse per l’ingegneria dei veicoli.
This course covers the fundamentals of electronic systems. Following a top-down approach from the system level to the device level, the main tools for analyzing modules for analog and digital electronics are presented with emphasis on applications relevant to the automotive area.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to analyze the frequency behaviour of circuits with operational amplifiers, understand the key concepts of digital combinatorial and sequential circuits, and design data acquisition systems.
Algebra lineare, calcolo differenziale, aritmetica complessa.
Mathematical analysis (differential and integral calculus); complex arithmetic; theory of linear electrical networks: time domain and frequency domain analysis.
- Functional block decomposition of complex systems; frequency and time domain representation of signals, analog and digital signals. - Amplifier configurations and main parameters. - Bode plot and dynamic behavior of circuits in time and frequency domain. - Operational amplifiers and negative feedback: inverting and non-inverting stages, and other circuits with operational amplifiers. - Real operational amplifiers. - SPICE circuit simulation - Principles of analog to digital and digital to analog conversion. - Digital systems: combinational and sequential circuits, interfacing. - Dynamics of digital circuits. - Architecture of digital systems, memories.

General organization: 30 hours of lectures and 20 hours of classroom training aimed at solving problems inherent to the subjects treated in the lessons.
Parte sistemi elettrici: - Copie delle trasparenze usate a lezione e raccolte di problemi pubblicate sul portale didattica - Testo di riferimento: Chua, Desoer, Kuh, “Linear and Nonlinear Circuits,” McGraw-Hill Parte sistemi elettronici: - Appunti delle lezioni disponibili on line - Test di riferimento: R. Jaeger, “Microelectronic Circuit Design, ” McGraw-Hill
- Lecture notes and examples of worked problems available on the course website - Supplemental material: R. Jaeger, “Microelectronic Circuit Design, ” McGraw-Hill
Modalità di esame: Prova orale facoltativa; Prova scritta tramite PC con l'utilizzo della piattaforma di ateneo;
A written and an oral test. The written test has a “closed book” format. Textbooks and notes are not admitted. A hand calculator with plain numerical capabilities is allowed. The written test includes * A multiple-choice quiz with four questions; a correct answer is awarded 1.5 points, an incorrect answer gives a penalty of 0.5 points * A numerical quiz with four questions; a correct answer, within a 5% numerical tolerance, is awarded 2.5 points * A problem with multiple questions: 16 points. The duration of the written test is 50 minutes. * The examination may be supplemented, at the discretion of the commission or at the request of the student, by an oral exam on all lecture topics. The oral examination consists of two questions related to the course program. The final mark will be the average of the written and oral tests.
Exam: Optional oral exam; Computer-based written test using the PoliTo platform;
The written test has two parts, Electrical systems and Electronic Systems. The test has a “closed book” format. Textbooks and notes are not permitted. A hand calculator with plain numerical capabilities is allowed. For each module (Electrical systems and Electronic Systems), the written test includes - A multiple-choice quiz with four questions; correct answers are awarded 0.75 points, incorrect answers result in a penalty of 0.25 points - A numerical quiz with four questions; correct answers within a 5% numerical tolerance are awarded 1.25 points - A problem with multiple questions: 8 points. The duration of the written test is 50 minutes for each module. The examination may be supplemented, at the discretion of the commission (in case of doubts concerning the written part, or at the request of the student), by an oral exam on all lecture topics. The oral examination consists of two questions related to the course program. The final mark will be the average of the written and oral tests.
