Displacing Architectural Narratives is a DASP excellence course that seeks to present narratives from geographies, voices, and topics usually placed in a marginal position in relation to canonical accounts of architecture to cope with the present, global tensions, and challenges. Considering that architectural research at a PhD level must expand the knowledge of the field, these new narratives, voices, and geographies help expand the map of possibilities and research methods, issue and scales of architectural engagement with the world. Also, by giving room to wider Latin American female intellectuals in architecture and related fields, this excellence course aims at strengthening the bonds between DASP and institutions from the southern cone while stating the necessity and the urgency to made heard unearned voices, methods, and affects. Each session will have one guest who will lecture on her approach to the question of architectural, spatial and urban narratives, followed by a Q&A with the students. To approve the course, students must submit a short essay (4000-5000 words) outlining new research avenues opened by the lectures, inspiring methods and critical reflections.
