The ongoing energy transition is changing all processes in the electricity supply chain. The management of non-programmable and distributed electrical sources, such as photovoltaic and wind generators, is a challenge for transmission and distribution system operators. In this context, process digitalization is crucial to improve the performance of electric systems. The ability to properly collect and manage large amounts of heterogeneous data will certainly be an increasingly valued skill. Students will become more familiar with data acquisition, storage and classification techniques by successfully following the course. The course aims at providing practical examples of how to properly collect (through e.g. a web crawler), manage, classify and process data. Within this framework, due to its importance in the international context, the European project "Datacellar" will be presented. The goal of the project is to create a federated energy data space that will support the formation, development and management of local energy communities in the EU.
