PERIOD: FEBRUARY This course introduces the main statistical and thermodynamic concepts used to the study systems characterized by equilibrium distributions with an asymptotic power-law behaviour. After a brief introduction on physical and socio-economical systems with power-law distributions, will be derived and discussed some generalized entropic forms and will be explored the main physical and mathematical aspects of the emerging thermostatistics theory.
Thermodynamics, Statistical mechanics
1) Power-law distributions in physical systems and socio-economical sciences. 2) Central limit theorem and its generalization: the Gnedenko-Levy theorem, Levy-like distributions. 3) Generalized entropic forms (q-entropy, k-entropy, Renyi entropy), canonical formulation of the theory. 4) Deformed exponential and logarithm, their analytical properties. 5) Additivity and extensivity, thermodynamical equilibrium and its stability in weakly interacting systems. 6) Zeroth principle of thermodynamics, temperature and pressure.
