Purpose of these lectures is: to introduce the field quantisation with particular attention to Electromagnetic field; to present some elements of quantum optics and application to quantum technologies.
Basic knowledge of quantum mechanics
Fundamentals of quantum field theory What is the quantum field theory. Noether theorem. Quantisation of bosonic field. Quantisation of EM field. Quantisation of fermionic field. hints to perturbation theory. Hints to non abelian fields. Fundamental of quantum optics Coherents states. Squeezed states. Quantum theory of photo-detection. Second harmonic Generation. Parametric down conversion. Kerr effect and QND. Application: quantum information. What is a qubit and quantum algorithms. Hints to quantum computation. Quantum communication: teleportation, q-swapping, etc. Hints to QKD, theory and experiments. Quantum metrology, imaging and sensing The course will be hold since the end of December (beginning of January) in days and hours to be established with students.
