This comprehensive course explores the sustainability general and sectorial trends in the built environment with a special emphasis on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) taxonomy and rating systems. Participants will delve into the ESG framework, learning about various rating systems, their criteria, and methodologies, and how they influence urban built environments. A significant component of the course involves analysing diverse case studies, offering insights into the application of ESG principles in different real state and urban projects across various geographical and socio-economic contexts. A key feature of the course is its interactive table round discussions, where PhD students and experts collaboratively debate their ideas. The course also focuses on specific projects, examining their approach to sustainability and ESG compliance. This practical perspective provides an understanding of how theoretical sustainability concepts are implemented in real-world scenarios. Participants will benefit from expert insights as leading figures in sustainable urban development share their experiences and perspectives on current trends and future directions. Additionally, the course offers valuable networking opportunities with peers, experts, and professionals, creating a community dedicated to advancing sustainability in the built environment such as CBG and iiSBE Italia. The course is part of the thematic path "Spatial Planning and Design, Sustainability Assessment and Urban Management".
