The course aims to provide students with:
basic understanding of the key interactions between industrial activities and the environment, in the framework of the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and the most recent EU environmental Policies (Green Deal, Circular Economy) ;
basic knowledge of the most relevant available technologies (best available techniques for emissions treatment) and voluntary tools (eco-management, eco-labelling, etc.) to improve the industrial processes environmental sustainability.

Objectives that the examination aims to ascertain:
Basic knowledge of the key environmental issues related to industrial processes and most relevant mandatory implications (environmental permits, etc.) for the management and operation of an industrial plant.
Basic knowledge of the best available technologies (best available techniques for emissions treatment) and tools (eco-management, eco-labelling, etc.) to improve the industrial processes environmental sustainability
The exam will consist in a written test with a combination of multiple choice and open-ended questions, to be carried out using the Exam platform, integrated with proctoring tools (Respondus). During the exam (duration 1 hour) the use of teaching materials is not permitted. The test is deemed passed if a mark of at least 18 is achieved. The maximum mark of the written exam is 30L. No oral test is foreseen.
