PERIOD: APRIL 2025 The course provides theoretical and practical aspects of water desalination techniques, with a special focus on innovative processes and their coupling with renewable energy. Experiments and modeling tools will be presented, in particular to discuss designs, configurations, and implementations of the innovative techniques. Based on the number and interest of the students, lab visits and experimental sessions may be included. This course is organized within the framework of the CleanWaterCenter, the interdepartmental center of Politecnico di Torino devoted to research and innovation of water treatment technologies, and within the framework of the Horizon Europe project MEloDIZER. The course will also involve academic and industrial partners of the MEloDIZER project, who will demonstrate hybrid desalination systems in which membranes and thermal energy operate synergistically.
