This seminar explores advanced methodologies for design and optimization of modern supply chain systems, combining theory and practical applications. Participants will be exposed to exact and heuristic operations research techniques to solve complex challenges, with a focus on a real-world case study of an international industrial gas production and distribution company. The seminar emphasizes critical analysis of optimization strategies to improve efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in supply chains, providing participants with actionable insights for industry and research contexts. Seminar objectives: Participants in the seminar will be exposed to novel and advanced operations research methodologies used in supply chain optimization and will gain insights into how optimization models can be developed and analyzed in real-world scenarios to explore trade-offs. They will also develop an understanding of common challenges in supply chain design and optimization, particularly in large-scale industrial contexts.
