The course aims to provide PhD students with detailed and up-to-date knowledge concerning the use of naïve and engineered nanocarriers for biomedical and drug delivery applications. The different types of nanocarriers that will be described during the course include synthetic (organic, inorganic), cell-derived and hybrid nanocarriers. In addition to the types of nanocarriers, the main characterization techniques used to evaluate their physicochemical properties, drug loading and release, biostability, tissue permeability, and potential toxicity will be presented to the students
