Le informazioni dettagliate sull’insegnamento tirocinio sono consultabili sulla GUIDA STUDENTI, sezione TIROCINIO, dell’anno accademico in corso.
Detailed information about the internship program can be found in the STUDENT GUIDE, under the INTERNSHIP section, for the current academic year.
The internship can only take place in Companies or public/private Bodies external to the structures of the Polytechnic or other Universities. Internships are not allowed at the Politecnico or other Universities. The internship can be carried out in Italy or abroad. The internship can only be activated once 130 credits have been achieved and carried out in any period of the academic year. The insertion of the internship into the study plan can take place at any time of the year by following the procedure described in the following section (see Notes). Generally, the internship can be integrated with the Final Exam. In this case, the work of the Final Exam must reflect the activity carried out in the internship with further integration/analysis for an overall work corresponding to the sum of the internship and Final Exam credits. It should also be noted that the request for the Final Exam follows a dedicated procedure independent from the internship procedure.
After obtaining at least 130 credits the student, in order to carry out the internship, must proceed as indicated below, depending on the students’ track. 1. EASA PART 66 track - In this case the career plan already provides for a mandatory 6 CFU internship, provided by the Polytechnic (in special cases replaceable with team activities). 1.1. The student must request the activation of the internship via e-mail to the Internship Referent (paolo.maggiore@polito.it). He must also indicate whether he wishes to extend the internship to 12 CFU (recommended choice) indicating any optional 6 CFU teaching to be replaced. (PLEASE NOTE: in this educational offer, only one 6 CFU free choice course can be replaced with an internship or with student team activities. It is also possible to insert excess credits up to a maximum of 192 CFU in total, final exam included). 1.2. In the case that the student himself has possibly contacted a company / research body, he must follow points 2.2-2.3 below. 2. Basic track - The internship must be included in the study plan by the Study Program Coordinator (dario.pastrone@polito.it). The student must: 2.1. Find an internship by contacting Companies or public/private Bodies external to the structures of the Polytechnic or other Universities; 2.2. Identify an academic tutor among the professors of the Polytechnic; 2.3. Ask the company / institution to send an email to the Internship Referent (paolo.maggiore@polito.it), with a copy of the Study Program Coordinator (dario.pastrone@polito.it) and the student himself, specifying availability to host the internship, indicating its content and the expected period; 2.4. Request insertion in the study plan by forwarding this email to the Study Program Coordinator (dario.pastrone@polito.it) indicating the code and title of any free choice course to be replaced (PLEASE NOTE: students can replace only one 6 CFU free choice course with an internship or with student team activities. Students can also insert excess credits up to a maximum of 192 CFU in total, including the final exam). Obtained the activation / insertion of the internship in the study plan, for both tracks, the student must complete the Training Project. Information related to the IT procedure, that allows the presentation of the Training Project and records its progress until its conclusion, can be found at the link https://didattica.polito.it/pdf/Procedura_Lato_Studente.pdf The procedure is the same for all Politecnico students. In the case of Aerospace Engineering students it is specified that: • It is expected that the academic tutor may request the student to upload a short report (maximum 10 pages) on the activity carried out on the IT procedure site. The final validation of the internship and its registration in the student's career is performed by the academic tutor. Possibility of meeting with companies, to get to know the companies and to evaluate offers of internships, are foreseen in the TIME FOR JOB events. Information regarding participation in these events can be found at the Career Service link (https://careerservice.polito.it). In addition, some internship offers are available on the personal page of the Teaching Portal. The student can also directly propose a company that does not appear in the list of offers and in which he would like to carry out the internship. In any case, the Internship Agreement must exist, or one must be stipulated through the Career Service Office.
